Hidden by Darkness By night all colors fade; the great leveller, the dark. It surrounds and comforts, its cold solace hides much. The tears, the sadness, the mournful prayers unheard. Lost among the night sounds, darkness hides my face. None glimpse my expression; as ever, blank, saddened. Weighed down by the world, a life fitted to the night. Reflections come unbidden, to my mind come faces past. Those left behind by choice, and those by necessity. (c) 2002 Robert H. Harrison
