Nature's Fury The sky a dark blue-gray, as leaves do dance and play; the lightning rends the ground nearby, then thunder follows sway. Soon rain begins to pour, sheets flowing evermore; the torrents fall in matching step, as armies told in lore. Tall grass performs wild dance, long branches learn to prance; the treetops bend and woo the wind, strong roots to hold their stance. All nature screams like pain, its angst unleashed in vain; as oft its message to those near, dismissed by any sane. (c) 2002 Robert H. Harrison
