Never Anything New

i have noticed something recently
something that you will never see
that You never say anything new
just as though you were in a loop
just saying the things you were told
you will be saying them til i am old
your parents and others told you much
and you repeat, pass on as such
never giving thought, just mimicking
logic is such a difficult thing
you want to make me as old as you
break my rebellion, my will unglue
then dominate my kids, pass on the same
being different, it is me you blame
since i cannot be what you want of me
no matter how much you wish it to be
countless discussions, still nothing new
you merely repeat what i should do
and from telling you truly i abstain
attempting to save you all the pain
for if i told you truly what i must be
you would see you cannot handle me
