She Wonders


She wonders why
love has passed by
when should have
been the victor

Life has no rule
and oft is cruel
and guilt it 
does convict her

Hidden is cause
and without pause
heartbreak does rush
upon her

Hers not the blame
nor carries shame
failed love does not
dishonor

Life seems to stop
all reason drop
when first the news
discourage

But soon resumes
hope once more blooms
if she will but
have courage
