Emotionless Void


i long for escape to emotionless void
sensation assaults all of my being
these human feelings so alien to me
my perceptions clouded and unseeing

in times past i once was objective
though perhaps that was mere fantasy
a distant dream to flee beyond feeling
to exist untouched by this reality

fearing i suffer from common delusion
in wanting to be more than all others
my aspirations seem silly and trite now
still i'll call not humanity my brothers

i seek another plane on which to exist
a place beyond all that i now know
for this world has brought no fulfillment
leaving hopes, dreams and humanity, to go
