She, Continued She goes walking through life - so afraid, insecure; lets none come close to her, else they glimpse that and more. She sees herself wrongly; completely unworthy, of any she could love - denies her hope early. She hates her appearance; her image, distorted - when views she the mirror, her worth there is shorted. She sees feet she must hide, and thin legs all too long; a body unfeminine, oh so much she sees wrong. She craves praise, but denies - all that she then receives; cannot trust in the truth, fears the message deceives. She must hide all her hurt, lest someone see her fears; keeping smile firm in place, she aspires, all to cheer. She gives more than she has, begging God for the rest; struggling to keep her peace, as approaches each test. She dismisses many - rejected for the crime, of having loved her, too soon, before her time. (c) 2002 Robert H. Harrison
